Touchdown in Cambodia. Only a 35-40 minute flight from Bangkok, on Bangkok Airways - on time amazingly. But the Passport Control and Visa on arrival here was an adventure in-itself. They don't seem to have the concept of a queue here. No-one helping you figure out the lines, the process at-all. Finally get to a Cambodia Security guy that refuses to take my $100 bill because it was folded and had a crease. I manage to produce a 'better one' and he accepts it...taking my passport and the passport photo (that is required to have with -you - NOT sure what happens if I didn't have a photo). That was interesting enough, but the passport disappears at that point, and I'm told to go over-there to collect it. Well, over-there is just a mob of people. No queue. Behind the counter, are hundreds of passports in piles, and a guy stamping them and passing them on to a an other Security guy. Finally the last Security agent in the line holds up the passports, one at a time and scans the crowd for the matching face/name. Amazingly, I get my passport back. Now I head to the immigration line for the entry. Only 3 agents working a few hundred visitors. I'm the LAST in line of coarse. Once I get my turn, no fireworks. Just another stamp and I'm off to chase another travel patch.
Now to see what Cambodia is about.
